Beauty and the Beast...but the other way around?
ArtisticIn some stories, the man has a deformity/flaw, but the woman loves him either way because she see's him as a real person. Why isn't it that the woman doesn't have the deformity/flaw and the man loves her either way?
It got me wondering after I've seen a picture by a certain deviant I watch, which is right here [link] . It's from her story.
Maybe they don't do it the other way around because guys are seen as brave, confident, and tough. After he is put through loads of crap, he wouldn't feel that way anymore. He would deal with loads of shame that would have a toll on his confidence, hence his need for someone who really understands. This may be a way to unveil another side to the man we don't usually see. This may be a lot tougher doing this with a woman.
So, what do you think about this subject? Do you know of ANY stories where the woman is the misunderstood monster and the man happens to be the only one who understands?
